U15s Match Report

Boardman & Eccles 14 - Norbury 3

A really great team performance today from the girls on a very cold and windy hilltop. I think every goal today was a team effort with lots of assists and strong passing play. The ball moved around the fan and the girls moved between settled play and fast break transitions with ease. This was satisfying to see as we have been working on this in training the last few weeks.

Great defensive team work today kept Norbury out of our half with some nice interceptions from Amelia and excellent positioning and play from Annie.

Midfield worked tirelessly up and down fighting for ground balls on a pitch that was slow and needed a few cm off its length! They took quite a few knocks from Norbury but held their nerve throughout in difficult circumstances.

All our attackers played great , getting into space holding their heads up and looking for those cuts and passes. Well done girls!

Well done to Ruby who performed excellently in her first match for Boardman and well done to Erin Mc for being today’s top scorer with 5 goals.

Unfortunately the fourth quarter was cut short as tempers frayed. This is not the end we wanted and I hope we don’t see this again this season.

My takeaway today is that girls played well as a team , were supportive of each other throughout and this made us the much better team on the day. This is why we play lacrosse.
