A fantastic performance from the girls today and lovely to see a strong win for our first match of the season, with some excellent lacrosse played across the game, with n good spirits and a positive atmosphere.

We had lots of success on the draw, winning most, if not all, thanks to some great work from EM, Tabby, Isla. Our transition of the ball up the field was particularly strong, and this led to the majority of our goals in the third quarter.

Quarter 1: 2–4
Erin MC, Layla and Isla all got on the scoreboard, with Mellor also finding the net twice.

Quarter 2: 5–7
Isla and Layla continued to apply pressure, with Tabby also getting her name on the scoreboard.

Quarter 3: 5–15
This was our strongest quarter. The girls moved the ball brilliantly through transition and finished their chances well. Goals from Erin, Layla, Isla, Erin C and Em helped us pull away and establish a ten-goal lead.

Quarter 4: 9–15
We lost a little of our shape in the final quarter, while Mellor played their best lacrosse of the game. They took advantage and scored four goals in a comeback, but the girls had already done enough to secure a well-deserved win.

A special mention to Liv, who was voted MVP by Mellor — a great recognition of her performance today.

Thank you to all the girls for their effort, teamwork and commitment, big thank you to Griff for umpiring today. Thanks, Jim, Matt, Phil and Sam.
