Lancashire’s A and B teams delivered an impressive set of performances at the recent inter-county tournament, competing against Yorkshire, Shropshire and Cheshire in a series of challenging fixtures.

The day started strongly for the B team, who opened their campaign with a convincing 13-6 victory over Shropshire. Lancashire established an early lead and maintained control throughout the game, leading 4-1 after the first quarter before pulling away in the final period to secure a comfortable win.

The A team also made an emphatic start, recording a dominant 20-0 victory over Yorkshire. A disciplined defensive display combined with efficient attacking play ensured Lancashire remained in control from the opening whistle to the final horn.

The second round of fixtures saw both teams face a strong Cheshire side. The A team found themselves up against one of the tournament favourites and, despite a determined effort, were defeated 11-2. Cheshire’s strength in midfield proved decisive, although Lancashire continued to compete hard throughout the contest.

The B team enjoyed a much closer encounter against Cheshire. After recovering from an early deficit to draw level at half-time, Lancashire remained within touching distance throughout the game before narrowly losing 10-8 in an entertaining and competitive match.

The A team finished their tournament campaign in style with another commanding performance, defeating Shropshire 18-0. Strong teamwork, disciplined play and clinical finishing ensured Lancashire closed the day on a high note.

Overall, the A team finished second in the tournament standings, with Cheshire claiming the overall title. Across the day, several players made significant contributions in attack and defence, helping Lancashire achieve two convincing victories and a runner-up finish against strong opposition.

The A team coach selected Erin as the tournament MVP in recognition of an outstanding all-round performance and consistent contribution throughout the competition.
