A valiant effort from our girls today against a strong Stockport team. A challenging first fixture of the season to be given.

We have drafted in our U11 girls to bolster our U13 team this season, six of them were playing at U13 level for the first time and we had Ava-Grace making her Boardman Bears debut.

Q1 5 - 0
Q2 2 - 0
Q3 3 - 1 (Celia R)
Q4 3 - 0

The girls settled into the game after the first quarter and tested the Stockport goalkeeper on a number of occasions after some successful counter attacking play.

The girls battled to the end with the last move of the game ending in a save from Faye.

Congratulations to Celia Ross for being voted our MVP by Stockport and their coaches commented after the game how well our younger girls performed.

And thanks to Matt Drake for the coaching support.

Oxton at home next Sunday ?.
