Timperley U11 - 12 v 6 - Bears U11

Yesterday we played Timperley in a friendly game.

We played a 10 a side game (first of the season), with Timperley loaning us 4 players per half, this giving us a sub.

For the first 3 quarters there was little between the teams, with the scoring being very close at the end of those quarters; and had it not been for Elsie having to spend a bit of time on the sidelines after taking a pass to top of her head (with the ball ricocheting high upwards) I do think we would have had the edge going in at half time.

As the girls always do, they battled hard throughout the game and Elsie scored a great individual goal after returning to the pitch. In the final quarter we had some good opportunities to reduce the deficit, but we were thwarted by some good goal keeping and a few misplaced shots.

The coaches noted several aspects on the day for the girls to improve on and we will work on these in training next week.

Thank you to Faye for going in goal for the first half, where she made several very good saves. Also to Minnie who went in goal for the second half and also making some very good saves.

Well done to Sophie for being voted player of the match by Timperley.
