I don't think I'll be alone in this statement - this is the best the girls have played. An absolutely outstanding performance - every single one of them worked their socks off.

As this was a cup match, we had to field all 8 girls at once. Usually we're allowed at least one sub, but not today!

Our scoring was opened with Elsie, after having one goal disallowed and a near miss from Francesca. First quarter finished at 1-3.

A number of saves on both sides of the field kept the Goalies busy, but shots from both ends found the back, finishing up at 3-6.

A few penalties here and there from both teams, and lots of ground ball competition continued through the 3rd and 4th quarters. Despite managing to reduce the deficit to 2 goals late in the 4th, Mersey were able to finish with fresher legs and score last.

Elsie was selected as Mersey's PotM

Everyone of them should be proud of themselves for the way they played.
